What is Ledger® Live and why start at Ledger.com/start?
Ledger® Live is the official wallet application that lets you manage hardware wallets, check balances, send/receive crypto and install apps on your device. Visiting Ledger.com/start ensures you download legitimate Ledger® Live installers (Desktop & App) and follow recommended setup steps for maximum security.
Install & login — Desktop and Mobile
- Ledger Live Download: From Ledger.com/start, choose Desktop (Windows/macOS/Linux) or mobile (iOS/Android). Always verify the domain and checksum when prompted.
- Ledger Live Desktop: Install, open the app, connect your Ledger® device via USB (or USB-C) and follow on-screen prompts to pair the device and create a PIN if new.
- Ledger Live App: For mobile, use the official app store link on Ledger.com/start and follow Bluetooth pairing instructions for supported devices.
- Ledger Live Login: There’s no account password for core device access — login occurs by unlocking the physical Ledger® device and approving actions on its screen.
Troubleshooting common login & connection problems
Many errors come down to connectivity, outdated software, or USB/Bluetooth issues. Try these fast checks:
- Update Ledger Live and your device firmware to the latest versions.
- Ensure Ledger® Bridge (if used) is installed and allowed through your firewall.
- Try different USB cables/ports and reboot both computer and device.
- For Bluetooth pairing issues on mobile, toggle Bluetooth, re-pair from Ledger Live, and ensure no other apps are holding the device connection.
- If you see “Can't verify Ledger Wallet” or “Error connecting Ledger account”, confirm you downloaded Ledger® Live from Ledger.com/start and not a third-party site.
Account recovery, 2FA & security notes
Ledger Account Recovery: Recovery is done using your 24-word recovery phrase on the device or a compatible recovery tool. Never enter your recovery phrase into any app, website, or cloud service.
Ledger 2FA reset: Ledger® doesn't manage two-factor codes tied to third-party services — if you lose 2FA, use the service's recovery flows and your Ledger® recovery phrase only when restoring keys where appropriate.
